Ambassador of China to Ukraine Ma Shengkun published signed article in Ukrainian media, titled “History proves the value of peace, and cooperation paves the way to unity”

On August 29 and 31, Ambassador Ma Shengkun published a signed article titled “History proves the value of peace, and cooperation paves the way to unity” in Interfax-Ukraine and on the Ukrainian online outlet EconomistUA.

In the article, Ambassador Ma emphasized that 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. He noted thaton this occasion China will hold commemorative events to honor history and underscore the value of peace. As the main eastern battlefieldof the World Anti-Fascist War, China suffered heavy losses and made a significant contribution to the global victory over fascism.

The article recalled the historical fact of Taiwan’s return to China and emphasized that the one-China principle must not be questioned. Ambassador Ma also highlighted the sacrifices of the Ukrainian people in World War II, paying tribute in particular tothe hero Hryhorii Kulishenko, who sacrificed his life in support ofthe Chinese Peoples resistance against Japanese aggression.

Ambassador Ma reaffirmed that China is firmly committed to the path of peaceful development, advocates the Global Security Initiative and promotes the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. He stressed that China stands ready to work together with Ukraine and other countries to safeguard the post-war international order and jointly uphold world peace.
