On September 23, 2025, during his visit to Odesa region, Ambassador Ma Shengkun toured the Seventh-Kilometer Market and held a meeting with representatives of the local Chinese business community.

Ambassador Ma first conveyed the words of care and concern of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee for overseas Chinese in Odesa, including numerous Chinese students. He acknowledged the important contributions of Chinese community in advancing China–Ukraine relations and sustaining bilateral friendship. He encouraged Chinese nationals to remain patriotic, unite and support each other, operate according to law and pursue common development.

 Noting that Ukraine remains in a wartime state, Ambassador urged everyone to heighten security awareness and take proper precautions. He reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to the principle of “diplomacy for the people,” including active protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens in Ukraine.

Ambassador Ma and his delegation visited several Chinese-owned shops to learn in detail about their business operations. Participants at the meeting responded warmly, expressing gratitude to the motherland and the Embassy for their continued care. They pledged to follow the Ambassador’s guidance, give greater priority to safety and serve as active participants and contributors to China–Ukraine friendship and cooperation, making their efforts to China’s prosperity and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
