On December 23, 2025, Ambassador Ma Shengkun visited Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design at the university’s invitation and met with Acting Rector Oleksandra Olshanska.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ma gave a detailed overview of China’s opening-up policy as well as its strategies for strengthening the country through talent, science and technology. He emphasized that education cooperation is an important component of China–Ukraine relations. He noted that during China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will continue to firmly pursue openness in education, expand international academic exchanges and cooperation in education and research, promote exchanges between the young talents and encourage leading foreign universities to cooperate with China.

Ambassador Ma spoke highly of the university’s efforts and achievements in developing joint programs with a number of Chinese higher-education institutions. He reaffirmed that the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine stands ready to continue providing necessary support, so as to jointly deepen educational exchanges and cooperation and further enrich the two countries’ strategic partnership.

Acting Rector Oleksandra Olshanska thanked the Ambassador for the visit and emphasized that the university attaches great importance to cooperation with China, views it as a priority for its development and intends to strengthen communication with Chinese partners. She also expressed willingness to expand the scale of cooperation, diversify its formats and achieve more practical results in academic exchanges and educational collaboration.
