On April 14, 2026, Ambassador Ma Shengkun visited the Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1, where he held talks with Principal Oksana Proskura and engaged in warm exchanges with representatives of the faculty and students to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese language education and the development of cultural exchanges between China and Ukraine.

Ambassador Ma noted that language serves as a bridge connecting hearts and minds. Kyiv Gymnasium of Oriental Languages №1 has been deeply committed to Chinese language education for many years, and the quality of its Chinese teaching has steadily improved. It has become one of the leading institutions for Chinese language education at the secondary school level in Ukraine and has made significant contributions to promoting cultural exchange and people-to-people bonds between the two countries. The Embassy will continue to support the school’s Chinese language education efforts and assist it in cultivating more professionals dedicated to the friendly relations between China and Ukraine.

Oksana Proskura extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Ambassador Ma for his visit, noting that the embassy has long provided invaluable assistance, which has served as a continuous source of momentum for the development of Chinese language education at the school. The school will take this visit by Ambassador Ma as a new starting point to continue advancing Chinese language education, cultivate more outstanding talents who are proficient in Chinese and knowledgeable about Chinese culture, and make new contributions to the development of friendly relations between Ukraine and China.
